Bathrooms must be cosy all year round, particularly in the winter when our homes may suffer from condensation and feel chilly. Here we are looking at how to keep your bathroom cosy and warm throughout the winter…
1 – A Warm Walk-In Shower
a bathroom needs a reliable level of warmth, especially in the winter. It can be a bit of a shock stepping into the shower first, so pre-warm the bathroom by programming your heating to come on around half an hour before you need it. Get those towels or robes warmed throughout on the radiator too! this is our Munich Matt Black Grid Wet Room Shower Glass and Return Panel, shown with the stunning Santorini Matt Black Flat Panel Heated Towel Rail.

2 – Double Duty – Radiator + Mirror
Get two for one – warmth and a mirror – with our clever Marseille White Single Vertical Mirror Radiator. It’s an excellent solution for smaller bathrooms, as not only will it bring warmth into the bathroom, but the mirror will add a sense of light and bigger space too. The Marseille is available with a White or Anthracite powder-coated finish, and in two widths, 500mm and 380mm so could really make a huge difference to a tiny bathroom or cloakroom. Suitable for all hot water central heating systems.

3 – A Traditional Option
If your home has a traditional or period look throughout, then there is no need to compromise on your overall style in the bathroom. Keep cosy with a traditional radiator design, and of course, it can be accompanied by one of our traditional bathroom cabinets. This is the Athens Anthracite Triple Column Radiator, also available in many other sizes and proportions, so there will definitely be one to suit your particular bathroom! The size shown here is 450x1010mm.

4 – In a Large Bathroom
If not heated properly, ideally using a heated towel rail and/or the correct size radiator, a larger room may feel chilly at times. One solution, especially for hard-tiled floors, is to install underfloor heating. UFH also helps maintain a constant temperature and will help the floor dry out sooner, as well as help avoid condensation in extensive tiled areas. Shown here are Agadir Blue Pattern Matt Ceramic floor tiles and Village Royal Blue Wall tiles from our sister company Tile Mountain, installed with Electric Underfloor Heating.

5 – A Small Space Solution
Choose a tall and narrow radiator if you’re short of wall space, go up rather than across the walls to save yourself some space. Taler and narrow radiators can also be a good use of the wall area in a room with a lower-than-standard head height – perhaps in a loft conversion for example. Our Athens Inky Blue Triple Column Vertical Traditional Radiator is 1800mm tall, and available in a range of widths, from 290mm to 560mm.

6 – Add an Electric Towel Rail
It can be straightforward to add an extra source of heat to the room – choosing to install an electric version can be easier than adding another radiator to the central heating system. Our Santorini Electric Chrome Flat Panel Heated Towel rail looks very chic, comes in a range of sizes – five heights and two widths – and of course, can be used all year round. An electric towel rail can be used throughout the summer months when you’re not necessarily running the central heating system.

7 – Cosy Bathrooms in Gold
Gold accessories add a warm glowing appearance in themselves, but make it a tangible warm glow with a Barcelona Brushed Brass Straight Heated Towel Rail. This is one of the larger sizes at 1600x500mm but you’ll find we have sizes suited to all bathroom sizes! Position it next to the vanity so damp and towels can be dried and warmed, and of course, it will radiate warmth throughout the room too. This is a central-heating version, electric options are available.

8 – A Traditional Cosy Bathroom
Go for a strong and defined look with black accents – here for the window joinery as well as the towel radiator. Our Black Traditional 8-Column Towel Radiator is an addition that is perfectly in tune with the period design of the room and works perfectly within the black, white and pink colour scheme. This is a floor-standing model, in two widths, 460mm and 580mm, also available in white.

Creating a cosy bathroom that feels warm and inviting during the colder months doesn’t mean compromising on style. Whether you opt for traditional radiators, space-saving towel rails, or luxurious underfloor heating, there are plenty of ways to combine comfort with elegance.
