Fresh Summer Colour Schemes for a Stylish Bathroom Upgrade

As we’ve been enjoying such wonderful summer weather over the last few weeks we thought it’s time to bring you some gorgeous, summery colour suggestions for your next bathroom design.

1 – Back to Nature Green

Everyone loves green at the moment, it’s an easy-to-use colour that can almost be considered a neutral as it doesn’t clash with anything. Incorporate green into your bathroom colour schemes for an appealing look – especially when it’s teamed with the warmth of Brushed Brass – shown here in our Medway Mixer Tap. As ever, details are crucial and this tap has beautiful knurled texture. Get the look with Rubik Green Kit Kat Effect Gloss Ceramic Wall Tiles from our sister company, Tile Mountain

2 – Perfectly Pink

Think pink for a great colour scheme for a bathroom … it doesn’t have to be fussy, and we love the idea of choosing pink tiles with varying shading for a striking scheme. And if you can incorporate a curved wall as well, that makes it extra perfect. Just choose an equally striking freestanding feature bath to compliment the pink! Get the look with our Finsbury 1500mm Freestanding Bath, which is also available in 1300mm and 1700mm lengths. The pink tiles are Luma Pink Gloss Ceramic Wall Tiles, again from Tile Mountain.

3 – The Beautiful Blues

Enhance a gorgeous white bathtub and black framed shower with a glorious blue background  – by using intensely patterned tiles for both the walls and the floor. As far as bathroom colour scheme ideas go, this is a real stunner! Our Kensington 1700mm Freestanding Slipper Bath stands out against the blue, as does our London Matt Black Bifold Shower Enclosure. Tiles are Rabat Blue Pattern Matt from Tile Mountain, as before.

4 – Cool Grey + White

If you’re looking for a colour scheme for a small bathroom, think about space-enhancing shades such as white and pale ivory. To make a small room feel more spacious, go for a white or pale floor, and similar shades for the tiles for the upper half of the walls. Here, the painted timber panelling is mid-grey, using the appropriate bathroom paint, of course! Our Chalk White Vanity with Marble Top Undermount Basin completes this cool, understated colour scheme. Matching toilet, seat and mirror also available.

5 – Natural Vibes

Ensuite colour scheme ideas can be tricky, as you don’t want to be tied to a scheme that may clash with future changes of bedroom décor. Think about a neutral colour scheme, using our Crete Fluted Linen White Wall Hung Drawer Vanity with Marble Top and Cody Basin. Team it with Travertino Beige Stone Effect Matt Porcelain wall and floor tiles, from Tile Mountain, for a nuanced and natural look. Don’t forget, Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2025 is Mocha Mousse – perfect for this combination and a good choice for bedroom décor too.

6 –  A White Summer

A bright white summer scheme is worth considering, particularly if you are not keen on pastels or brights. For a bold look, choose matt black fittings, perhaps with a small accessory, such as a stool or storage box. White porcelain marble-style floor tiles add a final flourish. This is our Richmond Freestanding Slipper bath – elegant and stylish for a white summer scheme.

7- Sophisticated Pink

Our Cashmere Pink shade is a soft, muted pink, which is a very appealing summer shade that works with both pale and dark contrasts. For a main family bathroom, try and fit in a double vanity unit – which gives more teeth-brushing space in the mornings, as well as that all-important storage space for family bits and bobs. Our Bermuda Vanity is shown here with a Marble Top and Curved Counter Top basins. Don’t forget – paint any wooden panelling with bathroom paint to keep it protected from splashes.

8 – Dark Green + Gold

Navy blue is a classic ‘dark’ shade for bathrooms, and our Inky Blue and Navy Blue shades are enormously popular … as is our Midnight Green, shown here in the shape of the Corsica Vanity Drawer with marble top.  A great choice for a new summer colour scheme, especially if you’re a green-fingered plant person, as most house plants will thrive in the warmth of a bath or shower room – go for varieties that love a bit of steam and moisture.

Conclusion

If you have a lovely sunny bathroom you can choose virtually any colour scheme, natural light makes most colours look good.  A small bathroom may not have a big window, so may be short on natural light so some softer colours (and good lighting!) may be the answer. With our coloured furniture, it’s easy to build a colour scheme around a ‘hero’ piece in pink, blue, green, or white, using contrasting shades for floor and walls. Enhance small spaces by using the same colour for floors and walls, choose wall-hung furniture and fittings for easy cleaning.  For very speedy colour updates, treat yourself to some new towels and add some lush green plants …
