There are a lot of decisions to make when planning a new bathroom… Here we are going to give you some tips on how to choose a shower set for your bathroom.
1 – Ultra-Contemporary Concealed in Gunmetal Grey
If you would like a minimalist modern look, our Galway Premium Gunmetal Grey shower set will do the job admirably. Concaled valve showers have a sleek control panel that houses the temperature and flow controls, recessed into the wall, so the look is simple and elegant. There is also a hand-held shower, which is useful for a quick rinse-down or for hair washing. A good choice for a clean and uncluttered look.

2 – What About an Over-Bath Shower?
If there’s no space in the new bathroom for a separate shower, you don’t have to miss out… An over-bath shower can solve the issue and can provide just as enjoyable a shower as a stand-alone choice. Include an over-bath shower screen to keep the spray contained. This is our Galway Square Brushed Brass Thermostatic Bath Filler Shower set, providing the best of both worlds. It’s an all-in-one solution rather than having separate bath and shower taps.

3 – Traditional Style with Riser Bar for Height Flexibility
This shower set will suit a classic-traditional bathroom, with a curvy overhead shower rose and white porcelain details. The on-off lever and the temperature handwheel are both easy to grip, and the separate hand-held shower head can be used in place or removed and used away from the bar, so it can be a nice choice for households with young children. This is our Shannon Premium Traditional Shower Set with 200mm diameter rose.

4 – Choose a Body Jet Shower Set
If you want to provide a luxury spa-like shower experience in your new bathroom, then plan for a shower space that includes body jets. Each jet can be positioned at different heights, so you can concentrate on legs, back, or shoulders. It may need a little more planning, but the results will be worth it! Shown here, our Ballina Premium Chrome Round Shower with Body Jets set, with concealed valve. This is a three-outlet valve with two outlets able to be used at the same time – the overhead shower + jets, or the hand shower + jets.

5 – Choose an Exposed Traditional Style Valve for Period Homes
If you want to create a traditional Victorian look for your new bathroom, take a look at our Shannon Shower set with Exposed Valve. ‘Exposed’ means that the valve, where the water comes in and is mixed to the required temperature, is surface mounted, rather than recessed into the wall. This set has, from top, the on-off lever, the main temperature hand wheel and then the operating level for the handheld shower head.

6 – How About a Ceiling-Mounted Shower Head?
A ceiling-mounted shower Set, such as our Ballina Premium Chrome Round set, will suit a contemporary scheme, particularly with large-format wall tiles to keep the look clean and refined. A ceiling-mounted shower head is a good choice if you want to minimise the visible plumbing and pipes, but remember to factor in extra time for installation if your previous shower head was wall-mounted. This model has a 300mm diameter rose, a 400mm diameter version is also available.

7 – An Overhead Shower with Exposed Fittings
We like this straightforward Lismore Essential Round Rigid Shower set… It’s very keenly priced, and could be a straightforward replacement for an existing shower set. The main shower head is at a fixed height, and the hand-held shower head, as with all our hand-held styles, can be used from the fixed lower holder or removed and used in the hand (also very useful when cleaning a shower enclosure without getting inside!)

8 – A Matt Black Waterfall Shower Set
This set would be a great choice for a super-modern shower room, perhaps with a walk-in layout and lots of space. The Glway Premium Matt Black Square Waterfall set provides a luxurious shower experience, with all pipework concealed and a very neat control panel. There are three flow options, standard main shower, waterfall and hand shower, with the option of using two at a time. The silicone nozzles are black as well, for a completely coordinated finish.

Conclusion
All our showers have thermostatic controls, which means that the internal valve technology maintains the selected temperature, and the anti-scald safety feature will cut the flow should the cold water supply fail for some reason. Remember that installing a ceiling-mounted shower head will need access through the ceiling – fairly straightforward if you can access the loft. Choosing a concealed valve model that sits flush against the wall will require space for installation behind that wall.
