It can be a very straightforward clean task to keep your new bathroom project looking all clean and sparkling. Having the right cloths and cleaning products to hand will make it worth spending a few minutes here and there to keep everything looking as clean as when it was first installed.
1 – The Wide Screen Look
This is our Hamburg Easy Clean 8mm Sliding Shower Door – the 1200mm width model is shown, and an even wider version, at 1400mm w is also available. With no real nooks and crannies to worry about, a sliding or single panel choice is a good choice for an easy-to-care-for shower room. Straight glass panels can be cleaned and dried with a shower squeegee, which can also be used to keep the tiles pristine. Don’t forget the overlap between the sliding door and the fixed panel… this is where you’ll need to get a microfibre cloth out to run between the two pieces of glass. Finish off by buffing the chrome frame with a dry cloth for the perfect finish.

2 – Brushing Up the Brass
A hinged shower door, such as our Helsinki Brushed Brass 1000mm design has a sleek minimalist look, with two brass hinges to maintain the clean, streamlined style. This is another layout that can be kept all clean and sparkling with minimal effort – a squeegee is your best friend here, along with a microfibre cloth to finish off. Spend 30 seconds cleaning the 8mm edges of the glass and wiping the hinges too. Don’t forget to inspect the shower drain at least once a week to keep it clear of blockages and free-flowing.

3 – Quadrant Style
A Quadrant shower enclosure, such as our Hambury 800x800mm design does have a few more edges and angles to keep clean, but as ever, it’s not an outrageous task providing you keep on top of things. After all, it’s much more pleasant to step into a squeaky clean shower enclosure each morning! A quadrant model has four panels to consider, so it’s important to check the overlaps and the rollers/rails. A deep clean every month or so is beneficial, but a few seconds each day doing a squeegee or dry cloth swoop over the glass will keep things tickng over. It’s always the standing water that makes any bathroom look dull, so time spent drying off is worthwhile!

4 – Fabulously Fluted
A single-panel shower screen is a very stylish addition to a wet room layout, this is the Munich Fluted Matt Black Easy Clean Shower room panel, measuring 800mm wide. There’s also a 900mm wide version. When we describe our glass as ‘easy clean; it means that each panel has water-repellent properties that ensure the water streams off the glass, won’t ‘pool’ and therefore is rather easy to keep clean. So we’ll just emphasise that a quick dry down with a clean and dry cloth will keep the bathroom all clean and sparkling… but even if you don’t always have time to do that, the ‘easy clean’ properties will keep things looking good.

5 – Pick a Bifold Shower Door
A bifold shower door, such as our London 700mm door is a good choice for smaller spaces, as the door folds inwards and therefore can be a neat solution in smaller rooms where there is less space outside the enclosure. Straightforward to clean using a shower squeegee, and nice and easy to keep those edges squeaky clean by just running a cloth up and down when the door is half closed and the edges are exposed. Plus, of course, a regular frame dry/polish to keep any watermarks at bay…

6 – A Wide Walk Through
A wide, walk-through wet room arrangement is an easy cleaning choice… Don’t let the large expanse of glass put you off, as there are no awkward corners or angles to worry about. The 1400mm main panel of our Copenhagen Easy Clean Walk-Through design is super simple to clean; a squeegee will make light work of it, especially if you give it a spray with a daily shower shine product. We also like the Daily Shine products from Astonish. Remember, with any wet room layout, precision installation is so important, to ensure that water drains away as required.

7 – Sliding Away
The Oslo Matt Black Premium Sliding Shower Door is a generous width, at 1400mm, so there’s a fair area of glass to keep clean and fresh looking. It’s easy to miss bits on sliding enclosures, but taking the time to do it properly is well worth it. A squeegee is good for this job, it will allow you to deal with the overlap neatly. Don’t forget to dry down the frame and sliding rails too. Whisking the squeegee over a fully tiled area is also time well spent, or use a microfibre cloth to buff and finish off.

8 – The Simple Bath Screen
Let your bath also provide showering facilities with the inclusion of a bath screen – which is a great idea for children’s bathrooms too. Our Hereford Brushed Brass Bath Screen also has Matt Black options and can be teamed with matching matt black or brushed brass tap and shower fittings. Of course, with a bath screen, there’s going to be a lot of spray all around, especially around the shower hose and taps so be prepared to take care of the fittings just as carefully as the screen itself. Squeegee the screen and give all the fittings a quick wipe-down with a dry cloth to avoid any standing water accumulating.
