The smallest room in the house also has to be the easiest to use, the easiest to keep clean and to be totally practical for every member of the family. Here are some of our best small bathroom ideas…
1 – A Slim Combination Vanity and Toilet
One way of saving a few square centimetres of floor space but maintaining some surface space is to choose a combination vanity unit and toilet. Standard toilets and vanities are generally 1200mm wide, but our Milos Fog Grey combination comes in 1000mm and 1100mm widths. The very fact that you’re not leaving a gap between the two items means that you’re making better use of space in your smallest room. Clever stuff!

2 – The Space Saving Over Bath Shower
Don’t miss out on having a shower if your small bathroom has an average-sized bath. Adding a sleek over-bath shower bath system still allows everyone to enjoy an invigorating shower in the mornings and if required, a relaxing soak in the tub later in the day. Our screens are designed to be absolutely and reliably watertight, meaning that a forceful shower is attainable even in a smaller bathroom without a separate shower enclosure.

3 – Choose a Short Projection Vanity Basin
One way of keeping the option of a beautiful basin and vanity drawers is by going for a ‘short projection’ design, which means it has shallower dimensions than standard, whilst providing the same facilities. Here, we have the Corsica Inky Blue Short Projection Basin Drawer Vanity which is a standard 600mm wide and only 350mm deep, providing a bit more floor space for when you’re looking for small bathroom ideas.

4 – For a Very Small Cloakroom
When you’re trying very hard to create a cloakroom in a very small space, we can come to the rescue with one of our very clever small bathroom ideas. It’s the Combined Wash Basin Rimless Toilet… so not only does the toilet itself look very neat and compact, but there’s also a mini hand wash basin integrated into the slimline toilet cistern. We think this is the ultimate space-saving idea for the tiny cloakroom you may be squeezing into a utility area or understairs cupboard! And… this has a Soft Close Premium Slim Seat for a soft landing!

5 – A Glamorous Bath for a Small Bathroom
You can still have a show-stopping glamorous bath in your new space-conscious bathroom, by choosing a shorter than standard model. Our Kensington Slipper Bath measures just 1370mm long – a standard length is 1500mm or 1700mm – and it’s also available in those lengths for larger rooms. Another tip for making the most of a small bathroom is to keep it clutter-free… a freestanding bath looks much more striking and becomes the focal point when it sits clearly in a very minimalist floor space. Choose white or light-coloured floor tiles to enhance the spacious appearance.

6 – Add a Slimline Tall Wall Cabinet
One of the best small bathroom ideas is to utilise some wall space with a wall-hung cabinet. It can be next to the basin, next to the bath or perhaps for some lovely symmetry, why not put one on either side of the window? Our Inky Blue Wall Hung Tall Cabinet has two doors (which can be hinged on either the left or right) and will definitely keep the bathroom neat and uncluttered. At 1400mm high, just 300mm deep and 350mm wide we think that you could add storage to the smallest bathroom with one of these! Also in Midnight Green.

7 – Include a Mirror Cabinet
Why not swap an ordinary wall-mounted mirror for a mirror cabinet? That will give you a good amount of storage space (our wall cabinets are perfect for smaller items such as skincare, makeup, lotions and potions!). Go for a mirrored cabinet with an integrated light, and it will also enhance the space around it, without the need for adding separately installed lights. Good lighting always enhances a smaller space, so we think this would be a spot-on idea for a small-space bathroom…

8 – Keep it Neat + Narrow
A narrow bathroom needs a vanity basin that is perfectly proportioned… this is our Capri Cotton White vanity cabinet with a semi-recessed basin. Although it’s just 550mm wide, it can still be a very striking statement piece in a smaller bathroom. We love the way the black panelling allows this cabinet to stand out dramatically. The floor-standing cabinet is only 302mm deep, and the basin is 430mm deep.
