This looks nicer than it acts. The horizontal rods are solid metal which are presumably supposed to heat up from the side bars which are full of hot water. Alas, the heat never quite reaches the end of the horizontal bars, so you end up with two piping hot vertical pipes and 12 luke warm bars. Luckily the size we bought is too big for the room we bought it for, so it works OK and it looks nice enough.
